Infinite.Soul.Music | Biz
Then & Now

In the beginning Jewels and Blak Mamba, co-founders of Infinite Soul Music LLC (ISM) and Sunz of Soul, had an unsatisfied hunger to make hip-hop music in its purest form. Around 2002 the void created from a lack of substantive music grew and became blatantly apparent. Blak and Jewels were immediately compelled to create ISM to fill that void. Sister company-Chitlin Circuit publishing was formed to support ISM and its artists. Their mission was to bring artistic integrity back to hip-hop while striving toward the outer limits of creativity.

The duo began to fulfill the promise offered on their mission statement by signing talented artists (Anonamas and Shawn Struggle), developing them, and recording them in their commercial studio space. They delivered on that promise by releasing a barrage of substantive, thought provoking, critically acclaimed hip-hop soul releases.

In Jun of 2005, ISM released Sunz of Soul's The Situation and followed up with a Anonamas' Truth Thru Fiction in Jul 2006. Both received extremely favorable reviews on and international acclaim. In Jan 2007 Jewels released his solo effort The Self Outside Project, which received high volume airplay and critical acclaim in the U.S. and internationally. A fan base of hip-hop soul loyalists, spanning the globe, supported the label's effort by purchasing these releases en masse, thus propelling ISM into the forefront of the hip-hop renaissance movement.

Now that the incubation period is over, the label is in full blown labor. The objective for the remainder of 2007 forward is to give birth to the movement that restores the relevance, prominence, and importance of hip-hop soul music.
